December can be a perfect time for a visit to one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the world—avoid the crowds and sweltering temperatures. It’s only a 3.5 hour car ride from the Arizona Grand Resort to the South Rim Visitor Center and historic lodges. If you go, remember the South Rim stands at 7,000 feet with highs in December averaging around 46 with lows in the 20’s. Great hiking weather!
